Fairbuds True Wireless Earbuds

The Fairbuds work wonderfully now. However, during setup, if you have another Bluetooth device connected—like a smartwatch—the audio on the Fairbuds can fail because the system prioritises the smartwatch signal. After much googling, I found the resolution on Reddit. I spent nearly two hours trying to get them to work, and it would be great if Fairbuds included instructions about this issue. The fix required purging all Bluetooth settings from my device, connecting the Fairbuds first, and then pairing subsequent Bluetooth devices second. Once done, the audio works perfectly with the buds.

Microphone was noisy so those are userless for phonecalls

The sound is flat and the original app crashed it, needed a full hw reset to use is again. It does't work with other equaliser apps, just ignores them. Now I don't have proper bass for the music. The mic and the BT integration are ok.

Pros: Repairable. Fairly comfortable once correct tip is chosen for comfort and fit. Seem durable. Audio is fine. ANC is actually very good. Cons: Whole outer-face is touch sensitive - every time I adjust the fit or push in if coming loose, I brush this and pause my audio. Would be better with a smaller touch-sensitive surface or a different way of controlling. It gets slightly easier with practice but not very accessible for anyone without perfect motor skills.

The quality and anc are incredible. It offers reasonable levels of sound. Easy configuration.

The easiest earphones to connect to the computer, mobile phone, ipad... The sound is really good and noise cancellation works perfect.

Comfortable and as far as I know, good at what they do, but one small thing, I only have to touch my ear and they switch off/alter the settings.

The software will not show if the buds are actually charged 90% of the time. and there are no controls for the ANC in the app (which sucks because it has a tendancy to turn on ANC when removing just 1 earbud anyway)

The build quality is excellent and they work very well, but the sound is... not the best thing. I'd say they are a good option if you are fine to make compromises. If fairness and repairability is the most important thing, no doubt they are a great option. In case you value HiFi sound above all things, these earphones are not for you.

Just il like to have a slightly bigger silicon ear cap, they come with 3 sizes and to my likings they're a little bit small

I bought these two weeks ago and they work great. They work well, the touch/haptics are good, as is battery life. I like that I can just use one, and leave the other charging in the case. Works well with Linux! People report that I am much clearer in calls compared to my previous earbuds.

Quality doesn’t match the price. Worth it for the cause.

I really appreciate the possibility to change damaged parts and keep the life of the buds longer. The quality of the sound is very good for my use (video, fitness, call) and the only that I can complain about is that they are a little bit bigger than the average products on market

Decided to buy these a few weeks ago, the sound coming through them is great, and they have a very nice feel to them. However, I did need a technique to ensure that they didn’t fall out. Other than that, I really like them.

Good quality product, very impressed. Really pleased with Fairphones ethos of repairability. Only downside is that ANC isn't as good the one from similar price brackets. But this a small nit pick. But overall impressed.

The fairbuds feel like a very good product. They were very easy to get used to, they pause automatically when I take one bud out of my ear, which I find is a great feature. Just the volume setting I didn't manage to operate well in the first days, often it recognised my gesture as pause.

I love the repairability, but the fact that i can't map or disable touch controls seems like a missed opportunity. Could be a lot better. Also some days i have connection problems with Pixel 9.

Hard to get a good fit but you need to otherwise The Bass will not be heard 😱

The earbuds perform well for basic functions. However, there is a major issue with the support app (v3.4): the equalizer does not work at all on my iPhone 16 running iOS 26.4. This is a well-known problem reported by many users, yet Fairphone has not released a fix. It is disappointing for a premium product to have such a significant software flaw unresolved.

Great earbuds, easy to use. Noise reduction works well, the device connects without problem to my Fairphone. Good price for a sustainable / fair product.

1. You have the worst product support I've ever seen, because it does not exist. After a month I still did not receive any human response. Only automated messages. 2. You app software has poor quality. Battery status is inaccurate a equalizer does nothing. That's it. I has only two functions a only one barely works. 2. Buds itself have poor functional design. There is no way to disconnect from the second BT device. Buds are sometimes connected even with closed lid. I am giving you few stars for the hopefully replacable design (we will see in time) and otherwise somehow working sound, even though i need to use 3rd party soft for better music sound. For audiobook it's fine. It's sad that you do not deliver many of your promises. 😐

Pros: -longevity: replaceable parts/battery, -I like fairphone and what they are doing, also big step up from initial Fairphone wireless buds. Sound is okay and usable as daily buds. Cons: -App: Have experienced bugs with the app making EQ adjustment either not possible or unreliable since purchasing the earbuds, -Fit: Not the most comfortable or secure fit for my ears (but not falling out), -call quality: Okay but much older earphones produce better call quality, -Bluetooth: using an older standard. range seems more limited and large lag between audio and sound when watching videos, -support: Very long wait to get reply from support team. -Touch controls: prefer physical controls which I find more reliable. Easy e.g. to accidentally hit touch control when adjusting earphone or sometimes touch wrong area or pause when trying to adjust volume or just not register touch.

They fit perfect, good sound, look nice and they are sustainable. Absolutely recommended!

Honestly the buds are relatively great. They fit well in the ear, they are amazing at cancelling outside noise, but the quality of the sound and of my voice in calls is just average for now. I'm not regretting the decision to get them, and the noise cancelling is exquisite, but they could use some improvements on the sound and microphone quality for sure. If you're in a noisy place they won't do the job. I do not regret buying them and I'd buy them again just out or support for the business.

I was already not so sure about the touch controls and it turned out that I was right about me not liking that form of control. It's rather sloppy, getting unwanted input, when you put them in the ears. But also being not able to skip tracks when wearing a beanie or gloves in the winter. I'd really prefer a button. I used to have Soundcore Life A1 and I can achieve all the same input controls with a button instead of a touch surface. With the advantage to still control it when wearing a beanie. I also haven't been able to adjust the volume without pausing the track. The sound quality is good and I like the fact that I can replace the batteries. But the controls kinda suck tbh. Maybe use a button next time?

Solid for the price, and most of all a good option for a more socially and environmentally responsible pair of earbuds.

I bought the fairbuds about two months ago. Delivered on no time so I could directly start. Sound and noise cancelling work fine for me. I had to experiment a bit with the ear pads. I need the ambient mode as well and use it a lot. I would prefer of the buds could be a little smaller over all. But that might be my personal preference.

Nice look and sound but fails to get synched with videos. This worked fine with the previous fairphone ear buds, sadly those weren't as repairable as the fairbuds.

Though the sound is by no means a high-end, it’s a pleasant surprise after all. You just need to tune the equaliser. The ANC is really good, the in-ear security is awesome (though there may be more comfortable earbudes). I love and support the mission of the brand and the product, so I decided to forgive two flaws that I would normally criticise. The first one is that with ANC on I hear a slightly more present buzzing from the left earbud than I would wish. And more importantly the second one, there is a really noticeable latency when watching videos. The video and sound just aren’t synchronised and it’s distracting. But I happily accept this only real compromise knowing what I contributed to. Good luck Fairphone, I have become your new customer! <3

Decent, not familiar with buds but they do the job, noise cancellation is nice, tested in a protest, but only if you insert em correctly. I believe the product would greatly benefit from extra instructions on how to choose the correct size for your ear and have em sit. After looking up things I managed to make them sit while walking without needing to insert them deep in my ears, doubt they would hold up against running. Ambient sound is great. Sound can't judge as I've never used another bud before(other than the good old wired).

Really comfortable in my ears and great controls! Best of all repairable so there's no need to upgrade just for fresh batteries.

The sound quality of the Fairbuds is actually quite impressive, and I love the concept of repairability. However, the user experience is severely hampered by the hyper-sensitive touch controls. They trigger constantly when I don't want them to—skipping tracks or pausing my music at the slightest touch or adjustment. To make matters worse, there is currently no way to disable them via software in the app. I am now looking for a way to hardware-disable the touch sensors. If I can't find a clean internal solution, I’m planning to either tape over or paint the touch surfaces just to make the headphones usable. It’s a shame that such a "fair" product forces the user into such "unfair" workarounds.

Solid build quality, didn't like the sound, too bass-y for my taste. ANC and isolation was fine.

They are a bit big and look slightly funny in one’s ear, hope it is because they can be repaired/ battery changed 😅 otherwise good, but if you’re looking for something chick and tiny, you his is not a product for you😊

Bought for the repair-ability, which is obviously the main attraction. Happy with the overall form factor and build quality. Touch controls take a little getting used to but work reasonably well. Unfortunately quite a few issues, primarily on the software side that really need addressing: 1. As noted by numerous others, the current app equalizer function is just broken (current v3.0.2 on iOS 26.2.1). No app updates for over a year (other than re-branding) is not a good sign of commitment to quality. 2. Unusable for watching video due to severe latency. 3. Microphone audio quality is poor. 4. ANC is okay but not great (which might be a result of #3). 5. General audio quality is okay but not great. If there was a working EQ in the app, could maybe make this better (making issue #1 extra frustrating). 5. Volume control increments are too coarse compared to a basic set of earbuds. Quietest increment (before zero) is too loud. Really want to like these, but left with a feeling that this is only a half-finished product. Hoping you can sort most of this out for us with some focused attention on timely software quality updates.

For me, difficult to fix in my ears. Also the Bluetooth connection with my FP5 is not brilliant. This was the same with other earbuds

The sound quality is absolutely terrible. Maybe OK for calls-only use but haven't tried yet. Definitely unusable for playing music though. I had similarly priced wireless in-ears with sound quality miles ahead of this set. The only plus is for repairability.

Still not familiar...but I'm impressed, noise cancelling works very well, the sound quality is very good. Still haven't used them driving, as I take the car very little

The Fairbuds are just OK, the sound quality is nothing remarkable, but functional. They start to feel somewhat uncomfortable after a while, at least for me, using different ear tips only somewhat improved the experience. Touch controls are fine. Included instructions were a bit unclear on how to get the buds connected to the phone, the videos on the official website were more helpful IMO. I also had issues with getting the Fairbuds Android app to work correctly, but not much luck. Had to download an older version to make changes in the EQ settings, and even those eventually stopped working for me. Not a huge deal, as I didn't need the app anymore.

I got them as a gift with my Fairphone 6, they don't sit well in my ears and the touch controls are annoying.

The sound is fantastic but there are two things which when combined make the buds a little annoying: 1. They feel like they're slipping out of my ears (I tried the various sizes) 2. But the problem is when I try to reseat them I end up dropping the call as the only way to do that is by pressing the controls.

Lovely sound quality. Noise cancelling not as good as others that I have used but still pretty good. Connected to multiple devices using Bluetooth pretty well. Really useful that it comes with a variety of sizes of ear bud attachment so you can find the best fit.

Audio is very good for my purposes and also noise cancelling (even if it is my first experience so I don't have big comparison). Dimensions are bigger than I expected but ok. One thing I am not happy about is the retention inside the ear. I felt them are falling 50% of the time and time to time they actually fall. I have been trying all the silicon adatper sizes, now I will try again a second time all the sizes, I cannot find the best solution for this. I will continue to iterate.

These are too big for my ears (with no choice of size), so are at risk of falling out and painful after a while. Heavy case, difficult to even see how to open it. Fiddly to remove and put buds back into the case. Sound quality is fine. I support Fairphone +++ because of their ethics, but this change in design is really disappointing, in fact unusable for me.

I bought them a two weeks ago and i am satisfied with the purchase because the anc is good. Also that you remove from the ear and the music or the video stops and resumes after you put it back in the ear. Love the repairability that this product has. Wish more consumers stuff was like this.

I've had one pair for myself for a year and just bought another for my partner. +Really good sound quality +Sound blocking and enhancing modes work well IMO +Sturdy (I dropped mine 2½half floors down the stairs and they still work just fine. The case cracked a bit, but it can be replaced) + Good battery life. I tend to load the other plug while the other is in my ear when I know I'm going to need extra long up-time + Stays in the ear quite nicely - Connectivity issues sometimes (especially with multiple devices) - Controls need some getting used to - Connection range seems to be around 5-8 meters, so I've to carry the source with me or plan accordingly if I can't. - The microphone doesn't seem great

Certainly not the most outstanding sound quality but meeting expectations. I like the idea of being able to expand lifetime by simply replacing the battery once it needs to be done.

Absolute zero fitting. Makes the product totally worthless, sad to say. When fitted it stays put more than a minute only by luck. The earpiece literally blew out of my ear when stepping outside in a little bit of wind. The same goes for all three different earpieces The only positive thing is that it has a low carbon footprint so I wont feel just as bad when throwing it away.

Sound is nice, the fairbuds are confortable and nice looking. Yet, unfortunately, the built-in microphone quality is very poor making then unusable for professional calls.

Sound quality is good enough but not the best, a sacrifice we make for repairability and sustainability!

Decent build quality and great plus being able to repair, but the sound quality is absolutely dreadful. It sounds like listening to a recorded radio play from the 1980s being played on an old transistor radio set.

I’ve been using the Fairbuds for a while now, and overall they’re a really solid choice for around €100. No issues with calls — everyone hears me clearly, if I speak a bit louder. The sound quality is good (not really for audiophiles), but perfectly enjoyable for everyday listening. I used to keep the “Studio” EQ preset on because it noticeably improved the sound… But after the latest app update (Dec 2025), the EQ feature is basically broken. No matter which option I select, the sound stays exactly the same. It’s pretty frustrating, because the EQ was one of the things that made the buds shine a bit more. Build-wise, the buds themselves feel premium, with nice materials and a solid finish. The case, on the other hand, feels a bit flimsy, not terrible, but it definitely doesn’t match the quality of the earbuds. Even with the EQ issue, I’m still happy with them overall. For the price, they offer reliable calls, good comfort, and decent sound. I just really hope the EQ gets fixed in the next update, because it used to make a difference.

I liked that the noise supretion and the ambient sound work as they should. I sould like the microfone sound when i call people to sound bether to them, but it is good enouf as it is. They are pretty. Love the batery time

Poor sound quality and pretty much useless supporting (iPhone) app. I wanted to return the buds but then I decided that I like the idea more than I hate the product.

Don’t fit my ears, tried all plugs! Can only use while sitting still. Heavy in the outer part that makes them harder to stay in ears! Fail or loose connection to iPhone, do not recommend! Won’t save planet if another gadget in the drawer.

They're generally fine, but has a few annoyances such as being quite large and a bit difficult to fit in small ears and the ambient sound has a weird periodic noice as if a car is right next to me for several seconds at a time even though I'm walking in a fairly quiet environment.

I bought them due to wanting to support the "Make tech repairable" innitiative that Fairphone promotes. The build quality is good, and I like the design. However, i feel that the sound quality is a heavy letdown, though it does help if you use a good EQ app.

Quality is very good, sound is perfect as the mic. Only to slightly negative things: the box is too big and I was not able to buy the product logged into the website, I had to buy it as guest.

It's a pretty good product. I really like all the different commands and it works well. My only issue is that the connection doesn't do well with obstacles at all, including my own body, meaning having my phone in my back pocket will cause some lags in the connection. Otherwise, it's really good.

For the price, sustainability, and removable battery, I would support this product. the sound quality is not the best, but it is decent.

I really want to like them, but they have significant flaws. Sound out of the box was terrible, but using the EQ from the app to increase the highs to +10db basically fixed it for the most part. The first actually bad part for me is the app. It's extremely bare-bones and half of the time doesn't even work. The buds' battery level shows up as N/A most of the time, and when it's not N/A it's a seemingly random value that doesn't reflect actual battery levels. The case doesn't even have an indicator of battery level either in the app or the Bluetooth pane (I think it shows you the battery level if you click the button on the case physically, but I'm pretty sure that isn't even mentioned in the instructions). The battery of the earbuds themselves is also all over the place, it seems that they don't fully charge sometimes, I have no idea why. I've had instances where the case was full, the earbuds were inside for a long while, and after taking an earbud out, it would die within 10 minutes. Half of the time I just expect them to randomly die even though they should be at full battery. Then the worst part, in my eyes, is the connectivity. The range on the buds is atrocious, I've never seen something with this bad Bluetooth range. I think a bit of the problem lies in the Fairphone itself as well, as it seems to have a bit weaker of a Bluetooth range compared to other phones I've used, but the Fairbuds definitely have major issues themselves. I've regularly had instances where having my phone in e.g. my back right pocket and an earbud in my left ear resulted in the earbud intermittently loosing connectivity, meaning that they're so weak they can't even pass through my own body. It's extremely annoying having to have my phone always next to me for them to work. I've never experienced connectivity issues with any earbuds I've had before these, these are by far the worse in that regard. I want to love them, they're so much more repairable and in theory should be longer lasting, but I'm not sure I'll be able to tough it out for them to be worth it.

All in all it is good but the battery keeps only about maximum 4 hours.

Great sound, great fit, and most importantly, great noise isolation thanks to the rubber around the pods. Sure, there are products with better Hi-Fi sound, but the fact that you can swap the battery makes these pods unbeatable when it comes to potential lifespan. Perfect for work like Teams meetings, phone calls and listening to Podcasts.

Great sound quality and I love that they're repairable!

The fit is luckily very good. I’m contempt with the audio quality overall, but the connection is a bit spotty sometimes. On iPhone it’s alright, but a bit annoying. On linux though, the connection is so spotty the earbuds are unusable. It is disappointing but I mainly bought these for biking and have other headphones for desk use.

I use my phone as a radio very often. Till now I used only wired earbuds because I wondered, when the batteries go out of use, after max 3 or 4 years, do I have to throw away such an expensive device? Then I heard in a radio sending abouth technology the Fairphone is the only company offering earbuds with replaceable batteries (absurd!). So, I checked some feedback and I bought them. Till now everything is fine. Wireless earbuds are much more comfortable than wired ones. Only, I the quality of sound is a little worse; but maybe this happens becuase my phone is rather old, and so the CODEC's are not updated. You have to buy the spare batteries ad some silicon ring from Fairphone, no reference about the batteries reference are given: This is the reason of only 4 stars. Let's wish a long life to this company, otherwise no spares...

I am no audiophile, but the sound seems correct to me. I tried it with a phone call, the mic is also doing a decent job. However the noice cancelling is not good at all. It does reduce some sounds in the street, however it useless against a baby crying.. The worst part is the bluetooth connectivity with my phone. I am using it with a FairPhone 4. 1/3 of the times, it works well. I take them out, put them in my ears, they connect to the phone. The rest of the times, either: - They don't connect automatically, I need to open the bluetooth settings to connect them manually - They connect but are in an error state, saying that I need to turn them off then on - Only one ear connect. It means that when I want to use them, I need sometime 1 minute to get them in a working state. Definitely not a seamless experience. Also it would have been nice to be able to customise the controls, I would have liked to use the one of the previous version of the FairBuds, and disable the google assistant. For now I am very disappointed in this product, and I don't see the point of being able to replace the battery to make them last longer, if they are so bad you don't want to keep them in the first place. I hope they can fix some of those issues with firmware updates The bluetooth connectivity is worse than the first version of the earbuds. As a side note, the TWS worked fine the first 6 months, then started having issues. The warranty policy replaced them, then the same issue happened. Now they completely died, less than two years after the purchase. So much for the durability.

They're quite comfy and don't feel like they'll fall off on their own. Got them for free with my Fairphone 5 and I'm glad I got these instead of the case + screen protector. These are my first wireless earbuds and I'm not disappointed. I like that they have touch controls.

Fairbuds are nicely made. Charging case with magnetic closing feels luxurious. Overall I love it after some testing, but I do think software side could be improved. Software is nice and simple which is a plus. I do preffer if functionality is in product itself rather than in some companion app (which can seize to exist/work) But I have three main problems with the SW of earbuds and app: - Fairbuds app is not available outside Google Play store - which seems to be big fail in my point of view. Ideally I would like to see APK download link on company website (since any human cannot probably publish and maintain app in all existing Android stores over the world - for me F-droid would be enough, but not ideal) - ANC is turned on by default and it just turned on everytime I turn Fairbuds on. That is very anoying. For me ANC has no positive effect (silicione tips does the isolation), and just ruins sound quality (I do have this problem with EVERY headphones, not just Failbuds). But on most concurrent products, ANC is disabled by default and I had to turn it on manually (JBL for example), or headphones just remembers the status in which they were turned off (Sennheiser for example). Enforcing ANC which ruins sound quality and (on most products) have significant impact on battery life is just stupid. - For some reason buds are "quiet" on bottom 3 volume levels - but not quiet like you would think, it's just no sound at all. On 4th volume level (something between 30-40% on slider) there is very quiet sound. On higher levels volume is OK, but jumps between levels are ridiculously huge. On 100% level buds are very loud. No other headphones does that on the same phone. - At first I was thinking the default and flat EQ settings are strangely muffled and did manual EQ adjustment to fit my preferred sound (boosted basses slightly, and highs - last two sliders almost to the max). But then I found there is something else messing with the sound. On Motorola there is some "AI" Dolby Atmos thing turned on by default. After disabling this thing in phone settings, default and flat profiles sounded both OK (but mine "tuned" sounded like a turd). So this is definitely not a fault of Fairbuds itself. But I wonder, how is it possible that other headphones does not have this problem?

A dampened sound that is not worth the price. On a technical aspect, theses earbuds are good! They are well put together, are easy to adapt to the ear and have functionnalities that work well (namely the noise cancelling and smart touch commands). But if I knew in advance that the frequency response cuts off at 12,000hz, I would'nt have bought them. This muffles everything in the high pitch range, giving the sensation that everything is constantly muffled. I thought I'd be able to make up for this with the EQs the app provide, but you can't manipulate what isn't there to begin with. As of such, I enjoy the object and it's conception, but don't enjoy using it at all. I wouldn't recommend buying it in such a state.

I'm sorry, but the very annoying sync issue with video is an actual dealbreaker. It's great that the batteries can be replaced and as such it should be a game changer.

I received these for free with my purchase and my I just got a bad pair but this was the worse piece of crap earbuds that I have ever used (and I am 50 so I used quite a few). To begin with, the call quality is appalling. The person on the other end can't hear you at all and describe it like I had pit the earbud in a can, place the can on the other side of the room and then whispered. The sound quality when playing music is worse the on my old wired OnePlus headphones that I got included with my OnePlus 6T (currently the headset I am forced to use since this is useless) the comfort is so so and the earbud keeps falling out of my ear, no matter what tip I use. If I bury it as deep as I can in my ear it soon because to uncomfortable to keep it in. I have, needless to say, contacted support about this headset but I won't keep my hopes up that possible replacement will fix these issues.
